| Summary | ||
| UNICON IV was in 1988 in Aguadilla, on the western coast of Puerto Rico. Host: Alberto Ruiz. UNICON was stretched to six days, with new added which has made UNICON the special unicycling convention that is today. Due to strong sponsorship, housing and meals were free to competitors. New first time events were Standard Skill in its present form, a downhill gliding race, coasting competition, UMX (unicycle motocross), and an eight kilometer marathon race. The UMX and marathon were especially popular because they involved all riders together, regardless of age (groups were separated after finishing). The six day format allowed more time to relax between events, and less frantic hurrying, plus more time to sleep! Riders enjoyed the tropical Carribean setting, and a large group spent a few extra days at the Ruiz beach house. | ||
