Letter of Invitation

Dear unicyclist:

Hosting Unicon X in this historic year is a special privilege for the people of China. In our country, interest in the sport of unicycling has increased tremendously in recent years. We believe that holding a Unicon in China for the first time will boost that interest to even greater heights.

The Chinese delegation has been at work on Unicon X since August of 1998, carefully planning and organizing this event in accordance with the requirements and rules of IUF. From August 1 to 8, 2000, we will host eight days filled with a vast variety of unicycling events -- all done in the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie that has characterized Unicons in the past.

During your stay in China, we invite you to take this unique opportunity to visit some of the world's most famous sites: Tiananmen Square, where you will be invited to ride your unicycle alongside your friends, both old and new, from all over the world; the Forbidden City; the Temple of Heaven; the Summer Palace; and, of course, the Great Wall, which also will be open to unicyclists on a special day.

We hope you will consider this an opportunity of a lifetime, as we consider it an honor and a privilege to host this exciting event.

We look forward to your visit to Beijing, China, this summer for Unicon X -- a sports competition that is the coming together of unicyclists of all abilities from all over the world.
