>Riderless uni-spin...
>Cyclone spin
>Armpit ride
>Hopping seat on ....
>Pedal walk
>First to use axel...
>Bwd wheel walk,1 foot,standing on frame,seat in front.

All the figures except the last one I saw it first from John.
But the last figure, which John did at the 1994 NUM & at
UNICON VII was done hundreds of time ar least since 1987,
by a good but not well known rider from Isabela, Puerto
Rico called Carlos Velez. He did it all the times in our shows.

He competed in UNICON IV, 1988 against Ken Fuchs &
James Green at 30 & over where he showed that
figure.

Carlos Velez was part of the original group from Isabela, the
ones that had to push their old mini-bus to mountain towns.
The Dumeng brothers, the Ramos brothers (David & Larry),
and, of course, Charles Perez were part of that group.

They were visonary enough to search for some great
"offshore" riders like John Foss, Sem & others. The good
influence of this foreign riders, the early alliance with the IUF,
the fact that the original group stayed long enough to teach
& inspire some up & coming kids led to the new generation
of Isabela riders, Jose Roman, Anthony Hernandez, Carlos
Medina, Cindy Torres, Candido Santiago & others. Josue &
Lydia Barreto are also originally from Isabela. Although they
moved away many years ago, they still visit often.

My family is from San Juan, about 1 1/2 drive from Isabela.

Carlos Velez is not active anymore. I will try to find out if
he thought up this figure.
